(SIP) Student Involvement Persuasion

  • Project Owner: beckyrps
  • Discussion with the challenge writer and other solution providers to determine need.

This solution encourages students to take a sip (try out) the programs being created for them. It is intended to supplement the solution(s) already suggested.  This solution responds to the Communities in Schools Challenge

Studies show that a major factor determining student involvement in school and other activities is whether the students have been personally invited to participate and/or whether they have any friends already participating.

This solution harnesses the power of Facebook. It is a prototype/template and instruction booklet to show teachers and program administrators how to determine the interests of individual students and organize groups using Facebook. It helps students see which of their friends are participating in events and also invites students to participate. Additional functionality can be adapted according to input from the challenge writers.
